Passage of Acting President Amendment Bill 2007

Section 5.102 is amended to read as follows:

5.102 An Acting President has the responsibilities, powers and functions of the President. An Acting President may not exercise the powers of any other office, but may, if a deputy, appoint a temporary substitute to serve in their place in the National Assembly.

Passage of Tied Elections Bill (Amendment)

By unanimous consent.

New provisions:

700.082 PRESIDENTIAL MAJORITY If at any stage of a Demochoice count for
President script, there are only two remaining candidates who each have
the same number of votes, the Demochoice random determination must be
ignored and the EC must conduct a runoff election between the two
candidates on the next Saturday after the election. If both candidates
receive the same number of votes at the runoff election, the Demochoice
random determination is to prevail.

Old Provisions:

700.082 PRESIDENTIAL MAJORITY If the Demochoice script returns a
presidential candidate who did not, at the last stage of the Demochoice
count, have more than half of the votes cast, then the EC is to conduct
a runoff election between the two leading candidates at the the last
stage of the count on the next Saturday following election day.

Passage of Fair Recall Bill (Amendments)

By unanimous consent.
